Soft, airy, sustainably grown. It’s your new favorite bedding.

Hemp is the OG of bedding and textiles. It was actually one of the first cultivated fiber plants — dating back to 10,000 BC China. And the more we get to know hemp, the more we love this durable, Earth-friendly fabric. Besides being incredibly soft and breathable, it has a sustainable quality you have to read to believe. So check out our new Hemp Bedding Collection and read on for the 5 reasons we LOVE hemp for the perfect night’s rest.

1. Hemp Doesn’t Require a Break-In Period Like Linen

Hemp vs Linen. No, you don’t need to wash your hemp sheets a bagillion times like you do for linen. Hemp is naturally soft from the start and doesn’t need to be broken in. While it does get softer with each wash, you will not feel that scratchy pillowcase on your face like with most linens.

2. Hemp Is SUPER Sustainable

One benefit is hemp uses less energy to dry and produces 2-3 times more fiber per acre than cotton. It also requires less water than cotton and linen to grow. Fun fact: It absorbs more CO2 from the atmosphere than a mature forest and 4x more than a cotton crop does. And when harvested correctly, it improves soil structure because of its short growing season. Talk about a fiber worth investing in!

3. Hemp Is Lightweight and Breathable

Like linen, hemp has a naturally breathable texture that lets you sleep cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Hemp sheets make the perfect year-round bedding and help regulate your temperature for a relaxing rest.

4. Hemp Is One of the Most Durable Plant Fibers

Finding natural bedding that is buttery soft AND durable is tough. Linen is more delicate and can be known to tear easier. Hemp was originally used to make ropes so it’s no wonder that it will stand the test of time and stay strong. Our hemp duvet cover will become a staple for years to come.

5. Hemp Is Naturally Non-Toxic

Pests, begone! Hemp is naturally pest repellent so doesn’t require the use of pesticides or herbicides. This makes it free from chemicals and healthy for your body. We also make sure our hemp is Oeko-Tex certified, which means every thread, material, finish, etc. has been tested for harmful substances.
